This is our first fundraiser for Kellsey's adoption! Many of you have asked in the past about Kennedy's necklace so I am now making and selling them!!! Each necklace is $10.00 and 100% of the money goes towards Kellsey's adoption!!!
The necklace I made for Kennedy was designed for safety, first and foremost. It has her full name, her address and my cell phone number so should she ever get separated from me, I can be contacted. And then of course, she has to look cute! Hence the fun colors!!!
Here are a couple more necklaces I've made:
It also has her name, address and mother's cell phone number.
This one was made for Jonathan who is 9 and has Down syndrome.
He thinks it's the coolest thing EVER!
Your child already knows her address and phone number?
That's ok! You can use her favorite Bible Verse or quote!
These make GREAT gifts for that special child in your life and provide parents with a feeling of safety should a little one disappear.
I will put as much or as little information as you'd like on your child's necklace. I also just got brand new beads that are white but the letters on them are multi-colored. They're VERY pretty! (I made one for Kennedy with these beads and can't find it at the moment, so pictures are coming soon!)
Want to buy one? GREAT!!!!
Click on the Paypal button below and order the quantity you'd like, then EMAIL ME with the info you'd like on your necklace! All orders will be shipped within 1 week of purchase and all shipping is FREE! Don't want to use paypal? You can mail me a check! Just email me for info.

Q&A #1
ok was kellsey her real name or will this be here new name. If its her birth name WOW, what a sign. 7 letters and K
Kellsey's real name is Victoria, we are changing it :)
What a sweet girl! Congratulations! FYI - I added your button to my blog. Hope that's okay.
Absolutely ok!!! Thank you!
Renee- thought I'd better let you know that I 'stole' your post for our blog....the Newbold family and sweet Dasha are in our thoughts and prayers- thanks for letting us know.
Thank you SO much for getting the word out!
We gave a donation for Dasha today, hope it helps them. Have you checked out our friend Zoey's blog lately? She is from my town and our church, Isn't she adorable?
Thanks!! Yes, Zoey is adorable! We read every update and pray every day!
She is so gorgeous! She looks like your girls?!
Thanks! I think so too! :)
Renee - What agency are you going through for the home study?
It's called Catholic Charities. Some friends of ours from Vanderbilt went through them and recommended one of the social workers there so we decided that was good enough for us :).
Do you get to use the money you've raised thus far towards this home visit?
Sort of... anyone money sent to our paypal account via the chip in box to the left is available to us now, the rest will be available once our dossier is approved so we can use it for travel and court expenses etc which will really be the bulk of our expense.
To explain to those who question: The theory of changing a child's name at adoption has to do with having negative feelings associated with the "old" self. The "new" self, with a new name, has a new beginning. "Victoria" is an orphan child, living the orphanage life. "Kellsey" has a home, and a family to call her own.
Thank you!!! This is a perfect explanation!

Step 1 - Home Study!
Our Home Study is officially underway! We have 3 appointments, the first 2 will be at the home study agency and the last will be here at our house. Our first appointment is NEXT WEDNESDAY!!! I'm so excited! The Home Study costs $1,600, with $800 of that due next week when we go. I'm only mentioning this because several people have asked for our step by step process.
I'm off to fill out the first of our mountain of paperwork! More on this later!

Baby Dasha

My friends Rick and Kristy Newbold are currently in the Ukraine waiting to bring their new daughter, Dasha home. I first met Kristy Newbold a couple years ago when she contacted me about her daughter Chloe. Chloe, like Kennedy, was born with Down syndrome and the Newbold family lived here in our area. Kristy and I spoke several times but never got the chance to meet before the Army moved them to North Carolina.
Not long after that we learned that Chloe had Leukemia and we began to pray. Several months later Kennedy was also diagnosed with Leukemia and right after that, Chloe relapsed. After fighting a long, hard fight, Chloe went home to be with Jesus. Leaving Rick and Kristy broken and grieving for the daughter they loved so much.
Last year they decided to pursue the adoption of 2 little girls with Down syndrome. Due to circumstances beyond their control, they were not able to bring these girls home. However, they did find their new son, John Paul, who is home and doing just wonderfully in Rick and Kristy's care. They also found their daughter, Dasha, and are so excited to add her to their family!
However, due to some unforeseen circumstances, Rick and Kristy are $2,000 short on their adoption costs. I know this sounds like an overwhelming amount, but really, it's not... if everyone chips in. I do realize this is a few days before Christmas, and times are hard, but even if you have an extra $5, it will mean the world to Rick and Kristy and especially to little Dasha! They want so badly to bring her home to be with her brother and extended family and friends.
If you can help at all, please visit their blog by clicking on the button above. You can read more of their story and see pictures of Dasha and John Paul and their sweet Angel Chloe. There is a button to donate in the top right corner. Even more importantly, I know the family would also appreciate prayer as they seek God's will for their family. Thank you for helping the Newbold Family get their Christmas miracle!
